Chairman's Welcome Message Hello! Thank you for visiting our Club’s website. As Chairman of the Club it is my great pleasure to welcome you to this website, and hopefully to also welcome you in the near future to one of our meetings.
We are really proud that we have now been in existence for over 10 years and for all that time we have been committed to supporting amateur woodturners in the region, whilst maintain the friendly, and at times eccentric, character of the club. Even the Covid pandemic did not prevent us from operating, although our meetings were on-line for a while. Virtual sausage rolls at break time in a Zoom meeting just don’t seem to satisfy.
The About Us page will give you more insights into what happens at the Club, but in summary we endeavour to provide opportunities to learn about, watch and discuss all aspects of woodturning and associated crafts for people of all backgrounds, ages, gender and abilities. We have a diverse membership and some members prefer the traditional beauty of turned wood whilst others are more experimental, using other materials and quite creative finishing techniques. Similarly some members are committed to making functional items, whilst others enjoy producing more decorative pieces.
Our website can only give you a tiny taster of what we do, but please remember that our Meetings are open to everyone – see our Calendar of Events page. Hopefully, by coming along one evening you will be impressed enough to become a member of the Club. We won’t start chasing you for fees until we’ve seen you more than once! So I warmly welcome you Ise and Nene Valley Turners, and invite you to join us in contributing towards the sustainability and success of the club, so that many more generations can enjoy creating shavings and sawdust.
